How to Brew Chai?

Time: 3 mins 30 sec

Bringing out the best of any product takes time and passion; and brewing a chai is no different. Giving the tea some time to steep allows for the full extraction of flavour and brings out the subtleties of ginger and spices.

Method

1. Place 2 tablespoons (18-25g) into a chai pot.

2. Add hot water to cover the tea leaves (approx.. 50g)

3. Allow to steep for 2m 30sec

4. Add 1 cup (180-200g) milk of choice.

5. Steam milk to 75oc with minimal texture.

6. Strain into mug of choice.

7. Dust with cinnamon powder (optional)

 
 


THE QUICK WAY

Time: 1 min

Sometimes time is not on your side, and a quick brew is needed. Skipping the steeping will mean you will need to up your dose so as to not miss out on the good flavours of your warming brew.

1. Place 2 heaped tablespoons (23-30g) into a chai pot.

2. Add 1 cup (180-200g) milk of choice.

3. Steam milk to 75oc with minimal texture.

4. Strain into mug of choice.

5. Dust with cinnamon powder (optional)
